What is our FM frequency?
Valley FM (CFAV) will be broadcasting at 97.9 MHz (Channel 250) with an average effective radiated power of 600 watts and peak power at 1,000 watts. Our frequency was purposely chosen to reflect and promote that Vernon is located on Route 97, the longest highway route in BC and also heading both north and south of our province’s borders.
What is our coverage area?
Our coverage area will serve Greater Vernon including Coldstream. We have secured an agreement with a private tower owner to co-locate our transmitter and antennae on a vacant tower on Vernon Mountain (Vernon Hill). We will also continue streaming on the Internet at www.valleyfm.ca.

Our studio is located in the people’s place in Downtown Vernon: 3402- 27th ave
What is our name/brand?
“97.9 Valley-FM” is the official name and brand of our community radio in Vernon! Derivatives such as “The Valley”, “Valley Voice” may also be used. Our call letters are CFAV-FM.
